Miguel Rio Branco (1946, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain) participates in the exhibition This Must Be the Place: Latin American Artists in New York, 1965-1975 at the Americas Society. Featuring 40 artists from South America and the Caribbean.
Aimé Iglesias Lukin - director and chief curator of the institution's Visual Arts department - highlights this generation of migrants who actively participated in experimental artistic movements in NYC during the 1960s and 70s, and helped shape the city into the art center it is today. Curatorial assistance by Mariana Férnandez, Tie Jojima and Natalia Viera Salgado.
